Join us for our February Grounds for Success with Chief Diversity and Belonging Officer at BGSU, Jennifer McCary. Discover ways EPIC can better reflect the diversity of our growing membership and how we can create programming and experiences that are inclusive to all of our members and the community.

Jennifer will share her career journey and will talk about some of the diversity and inclusion efforts happening around us now. She will also offer advice on how EPIC can think about the concept of belonging as it relates to the diversity and inclusion conversation.

Jennifer McCary is the Chief Diversity and Belonging Officer at Bowling Green State University (BGSU). In her role, Jennifer oversees the Division of Diversity and Belonging, which includes the Office of Multicultural Affairs, LGBTQ+ Programs, TRIO Programs, the Center for Women and Gender Equity, the Center for Violence Prevention and Education, and the Office of Title IX. Prior to beginning at BGSU, Jennifer was the Associate Dean for Violence Prevention and Resolution, Title IX Coordinator, and Director of the Women's Center at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, PA. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Education/Stone Sculpture at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in Bowling Green, Ohio and a Master of Arts degree also from BGSU in College Student Personnel. A 2019 Recipient of the Toledo 20 Under 40, Jennifer is an active member of the community serving on a number of committees working to better the region. Jennifer trains on the topics of civility and bystander intervention, unconscious bias, as well as Title IX. Jennifer has made it her professional goal to help reduce discrimination and violence on as many campuses as possible.
