EPIC Bootlegger Bash!

The EPIC Bootlegger Bash presented by Yark Automotive Group kicked off at the Maumee Bay Brewing Warehouse on March 8.

The event featured a speakeasy theme and attendees took to the theme in flapper, mobster and 1920s style.  The Warehouse was the perfect setting to recreate the dimly lit prohibition theme with its wall of whiskey barrels adding to the hidden tiger vibe.

Music provided by Swingmania gave the first part of the night the seedy lounge feel of being at a prohibition party.  Many revelers showed off their swing, jive and lindy hop skills while professionals dancers from the Ballroom Dance Company assisted in encouraging others and setting the tone for the dance floor. DJ Muha had the crowd up and dancing til last call.

“Our planning committee had such a fun time planning this year’s EPIC Bash! The prohibition theme, unique location and amazing vendors made this year’s Bash one that will be hard to top!”

Bash Event Chair Elizabeth Michalak

Not only did Maumee Bay feature their brews on tap, but party goers had the chance to sample custom themed drinks like Giggle Water, Bathtub Gin and an Old Fashioned.

Food provided by Maumee Bay included cocktail shrimp, pretzel bites, bruschetta and much more.  Dessert was provided by non-other than Holey Toledough donuts to round out the evening.

In its twelfth year, the EPIC Bash is so much more than just a party. This event is a way for the region’s emerging leaders to get together for an evening of fun and networking.  Many attendees have found a vibrant community filled with young leaders at this event and chose to make it their home. EPIC Advisory Member Christian Piazza shares, “Three years ago, I went to my first EPIC Bash and it was a huge part in my decision to make Toledo home. This year was no different in showcasing our region’s young professionals, who came together for a fun evening of bootlegging!”

To create this classic speakeasy we employed the talents of many of the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce members including Maumee Bay Brewing, The Toledo Club, Twine.it, Bartz Viviano, Metzger’s Printing, and Holey Toledough.
